Kadeem Sabari, Assistant Director of Bands
Kadeem Sabari is the Assistant Director of Bands at South Aiken High School. In this capacity, he assists Neil Nelson in guiding the marching and concert bands at South Aiken High School. He teaches additional courses in Music Appreciation and Group Piano. This is also his first year teaching and is glad to be working in Aiken County.
He has prior music education experiences at Irmo High School, River Bluff High School, Gilbert High School, and Meadow Glen Middle School, which are all located in the Columbia/Lexington area. He taught high brass masterclasses, private lessons, and served as a High Brass specialist for marching bands. While assisting at River Bluff High School, the marching band placed 2nd at the SCBDA 4A State Championships.
He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree from the University of South Carolina. While at the University of South Carolina, he performed in a multitude of ensembles including the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, University Band, and the Mighty Sound of the Southeast. Highlights include being the Principal Trumpet Player of the Wind Ensemble in the Fall of 2015 as well as being the Trumpet Section Leader in the Mighty Sound of the Southeast in the same season.
His professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), South Carolina Band Directors Association (SCBDA), Aiken County Band Directors Association, and Kappa Kappa Psi, National Honorary Fraternity.
